Former Binns building: New home of PopRecs

This was built as a merchant house in the late 1700s, as part of the first wave of post-medieval development in Sunderland. A few years after it was built, it was turned into a shop: Binns. The street it is on became the commercial heart of the town. Binns was a Quaker-owned department store that became a national chain.
